In June, it is best to buy already prepared seedlings or young bushes in pots – these take root quickly and start blooming abundantly almost immediately after planting. The plant is considered perennial, but many gardeners grow it as a biennial, renewing the seedlings every 2–3 years to ensure the blooming is as abundant as possible.
Sunflowers like sun or light partial shade, loose soil, and moderate watering without standing water. With good care, the bushes quickly grow into dense blooming carpets and look very luxurious, although they require minimal maintenance.
