On Wednesday, the performance was shown at the Upytė Craft Centre, and later the theatre troupe moved towards Molainiai. However, an unfortunate accident occurred during the journey – the startled horses overturned the wagon on its side.

According to Antanas Markuckis, director of the Panevėžys Puppet Wagon Theatre, the most important thing is that no one was injured during the incident.

“The most important thing is that people were not injured. The horses were scared, but we quickly unharnessed them and let them graze in the meadow. We called the police, but the officers, after learning that no one was injured, informed us that the incident was recorded, but they would not come. It’s very good that we are all healthy, the horses are also unharmed. Only the dog is a little scared,” A. Markuckis told the news portal JP.

The theatre director said that local farmers soon lent a helping hand.

“We will definitely show the performance in Molainiai. They promised to turn the wagon back over and tow it to Molainiai. The most important thing is that the wagon was almost undamaged – it fell into the bushes, only one side is slightly scratched. I believe that we will successfully continue our anniversary tour and finish in Panevėžys on June 10,” said A. Markuckis.
