S. Witkoff and J. Kushner, D. Trump’s son-in-law, are engaged in shooting diplomacy between Russia and Ukraine; the two have visited Moscow several times, and this weekend, they are expected to visit Kyiv, a source told the news agency AFP on Friday.

Russia’s state news agency TASS reported on Friday that the US negotiators will first visit Moscow, and later Kyiv.
Additionally, Ukrainian media reported that the Russians are trying to dissuade the Americans from visiting Kyiv.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to confirm reports about J. Kushner and S. Witkoff’s visit to Moscow and only stated that the media will be informed if such a meeting takes place.
US officials have not yet confirmed the visit.
The last time J. Kushner and S. Witkoff visited Moscow was in January 2026, where they met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This visit to Kyiv would be their first.
