This is the company’s first project directly connected to the Litgrid transmission network and one of the largest energy infrastructure facilities implemented by Green Genius in Lithuania, the report said.

“Together with the battery storage system, the implemented hybrid solar park is especially beneficial to the electricity system – it allows for more efficient integration of large amounts of solar generation, ensures greater production stability and system flexibility,” said Ignas Mickevičius, Head of the Network Development Group at Litgrid, in the report.

The battery system installed in Šeduva, operating at a maximum power of 15 MW, can supply energy to the grid continuously for four hours.

It is estimated that the solar park will help avoid more than 60 thousand tons of CO2 emissions annually.

Last July, it was announced that the Paris-based investment company Rgreen Invest lent 36.66 million euros for this Green Genius park.
