This year’s dinner theme is “Parisian Evening – The Beautiful Era” (“Une Soirée Parisienne – La Belle Époque”), so the event atmosphere was filled with French elegance, aesthetics, and special attention to detail. Guests dressed entirely in white sat at tables decorated in white, and the evening was accompanied by gourmet dishes, camaraderie, and a festive mood.

Guests also enjoyed the mercy of the sky – on Friday, sunny weather delighted Vilnius, but on Saturday the sky will cloud over. A powerful storm is forecast.
The tradition of “Dîner en Blanc” began in 1988 in Paris. At that time, friends were invited to dine outdoors, and the main rule was one – everyone had to wear white. The event location is revealed to guests only at the last moment. Over more than three decades, this idea has grown into an international phenomenon – dinners are now held in more than 120 cities across six continents.
In Vilnius, this elegant tradition has been alive for thirteen years. Each year, the event gathers more than a thousand participants who meet in the most unexpected spaces of the capital and transform them into a special white celebration for one evening.

“This celebration has become an eagerly awaited end-of-summer ritual for many – in families, among friends, and communities. We are proud that Vilnius is part of this international movement. Over thirteen years, we have gathered a loyal circle of participants, have strong partners, and welcome new ones every year. This allows us to create an ever more impressive, aesthetic experience. ‘Dîner en Blanc’ is not just a dinner; it is a celebration of togetherness, style, and creativity, proving that our city knows how to celebrate life beautifully. This year, we invited participants to a Parisian evening – Une Soirée Parisienne – La Belle Époque – with special guests, new partnerships, and gourmet surprises.”
The evening was created not only by the unique location and the white dress code but also by the efforts of the participants themselves. As every year, guests adhered to the main “Dîner en Blanc” rules – choosing white clothes, bringing white dishes, tablecloths, decorations, and ensuring aesthetically presented dishes. After the celebration, the space had to remain exactly as it was found.
The idea of the first “Dîner en Blanc” in Lithuania was born in 2014. Dovilė Butkienė, having seen photos of the dinner held in Paris, decided to bring this elegant tradition to Vilnius. Valda Lukošiūtė, interested in gourmet food and French culture, has been involved in the initiative from the very beginning.
Over thirteen years, “Dîner en Blanc” has become an integral part of Vilnius summer tradition – for one evening, the capital’s spaces fill with people dressed in white, elegant tables, French atmosphere, and, most importantly, togetherness.
