I don’t know the exact backstory of the conflict, but as far as I understand, the girl didn’t like that while riding together, her boyfriend was not riding beside her but behind. That way she couldn’t see him and didn’t know if he was still riding along. The guy explained that he couldn’t ride beside her because the bike path is too narrow for two people, but riding behind he could see his girlfriend perfectly and thus ensure her safety.
A domestic quarrel, so what? Domestic issues don’t disappear during holidays; they or at least most of them are present with people even then. Honestly, I am not convinced at all by people who have some problems or internal conflicts running away to another city, district, or country.
You can, man, cross even 12 time zones, but your inner world, character, beliefs, and psychological traumas will still catch up with you, and most situations or thoughts you ran from will still be with you.
