Yoga can help reduce stress, calm the mind, and strengthen emotional resilience. Certain poses are especially effective in helping to relax, slow the heart rate, and focus on breathing.

According to certified yoga instructor Amber Wallin, yoga helps not only to overcome stress outbreaks but also develops the ability to cope more easily with tension in everyday life.

To make the practice truly calming, the specialist recommends putting the phone aside for at least a short time, turning off notifications, and creating the coziest environment possible. For some, this requires a warm room and soft sports pants; for others – cool air and complete silence. The most important thing is to let go of expectations. In yoga practice, you don’t need to be perfect: it’s not necessary to reach your feet with your hands or perform poses perfectly. Yoga is primarily about well-being, not results.

The instructor recommends dedicating at least 15 minutes a day to calming poses but emphasizes that even one minute of mindful pause is beneficial.

Breathing is especially important – slow and deep inhales can slow the heart rate and help the body transition to a calmer state. When attention is focused on breathing, it becomes harder to constantly think about what causes tension.
