Deadly dangerous bacteria in the Baltic Sea: 2 people have already died in Germany

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has already registered two deaths this year following infections with vibrions acquired in Germany. A total of 17 cases meeting the established criteria have been recorded.

Both deceased individuals were of very advanced age. Among the 17 infected were ten men and seven women aged from 3 to 95 years, with a median age of 70 years. The RKI only partially has data on comorbidities and open wounds, and these are not evaluated.
