When it seemed that Žalgiris’ summer work was already done, Sportal reported about Panathinaikos’ ambitions to buy out N. Williams-Goss from Kaunas.

The American, who spent his first season in Kaunas, has a guaranteed contract with Žalgiris for the coming year, and there is no buyout option recorded for this summer.

However, the Greek giant is ready not only to pay Žalgiris a buyout but also to pay N. Williams-Goss significantly more money than he earns in Lithuania (about 1.4 million euros per season).

Still, it seems that Žalgiris fans have no reason to worry, at least for now.

“Žalgiris is resilient,” wrote one of the club’s owners, Tesonet founder Tomas Okmanas, in a Facebook message after the BasketNews publication.
