Increased microbiological contamination is still detected at Naujoji Vilnia beach, so it is recommended to temporarily refrain from swimming there. A warning sign placed on the beach also informs holidaymakers about this.

In early July, Vilnius was hit by heavy rains – it is likely that they caused the increased water pollution.
Earlier this month, increased pollution indicators were also recorded at Žirmūnai, Grigiškės, and Trakų Vokė beaches.
Usually, water quality improves within 1–3 days of contamination detection, as the water naturally renews itself.
In the capital, “Grinda” maintains 15 beaches. The company regularly organizes water and sand tests to monitor the situation and promptly inform residents about swimming conditions.
Currently, the water quality at all other Vilnius beaches is good, so it is safe to swim there.
