- Barstyčiai or Puokė stone, the largest in Lithuania, can be found in the Skuodas district;
- the famous Puntukas stone stands in the Anykščiai Regional Park;
- the impressive Vištytis stone can be seen in the Vištytis Regional Park.
The length of the largest Lithuanian boulder Barstyčiai or Puokė stone is about 13.4 meters, width – 7.5 meters, height – 3.6 meters, and weight is estimated at more than half a thousand tons. This huge granite block was discovered relatively recently – in 1957 during land reclamation works.

Until then, most of it was hidden underground, so for a long time no one even suspected that the largest stone in Lithuania was lying here. Today it is perfectly adapted for visiting. The boulder has been declared a state-protected geological natural heritage object.
If you have already been to the Puntukas stone, come again. You can spend the whole day here because there is well-maintained tourism infrastructure nearby – the Tree Canopy Trail, bicycle paths, entertainment for children.
The length of Puntukas is about 6.9 meters, width – 6.7 meters, height – 5.7 meters, and weight is estimated at several hundred tons. Puntukas became famous not only for its size but also for legends.
It is said that the devil wanted to destroy the Anykščiai church with this stone but did not manage because the roosters crowed. Long ago, bas-reliefs of Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas and the words of their testament were carved on the Puntukas boulder, so the object has not only natural but also historical significance.

Another truly impressive Lithuanian boulder is the Vištytis stone, located near the picturesque Vištytis lake. The length of this boulder is about 7.2 meters, width – 5.7 meters, height – 3.6 meters, and weight – about 160 tons. The Vištytis stone stands in the Vištytis Regional Park, famous for its hilly landscape, lakes, and unique nature.

The stone is surrounded by ancient legends, and various marks can be seen on its surface, which were once considered mystical signs. For visitors, the Vištytis stone becomes a great opportunity to combine acquaintance with natural heritage and relaxation by one of the largest lakes in Southern Lithuania.
These three boulders are living witnesses of the Ice Age. They remind us of the times when huge ice masses covered the current territory of Lithuania, bringing stones from Scandinavia. All three Lithuanian boulders are granite-origin stones.
