He is convinced that the only real victory at this time can only be the stopping of the war to save human lives, not the search for a formula that would be equally beneficial to both sides.
„The most important victory for everyone – not for Ukraine and Russia, but for everyone, for the whole world. It is peace that will stop this war. And it is a victory for human lives,“ emphasized the president, responding to a question from a „CBS News“ journalist.
„Crazy idea“
V. Zelensky also doubted that Russian leader Vladimir Putin aims to occupy only certain regions of Ukraine and stop there.
„After all, he has the largest territory in the world, does he need a few more kilometers? It is very strange when some partners say: he only needs this part of Ukraine, these kilometers, and that’s it,“ said the head of state.
The president is convinced that this is a „crazy idea.“ According to him, V. Putin actually wants not kilometers, but the whole of Ukraine as part of Russia and absolute subjugation of the country.

The US has begun to understand the war in Ukraine
In an interview with „CBS News“ V. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine and the United States constantly maintain dialogue and continue negotiations – according to him, the American side is taking various support measures.
The Ukrainian president also expressed hope that the United States will take more decisive and stronger actions to completely destroy Russia’s capacity to wage war.
According to V. Zelensky, the United States has also begun to understand a lot about the war in Ukraine. He was very pleased that Donald Trump’s negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner came to Kyiv for the first time after six to seven trips to Moscow.
„I think this is important. They needed to show this respect to our nation, and they did. They asked us not to disclose some of their proposals to the media for now, so that we could discuss more details and respond to their ideas. So, we will do so, and we are preparing for a meeting with President Trump in New York,“ added V. Zelensky.
