“If you are going to do a Brazilian wax and remove hair from your buttocks to have skin as smooth as a baby’s – great. But there is one thing no one tells you,” the woman said in the video.

Her theory is simple: hair supposedly provides some friction, so passing gas can be quieter. When the hair is removed, there is nothing to muffle the sound, so the gas can be louder.

“I’m completely serious. When gas passes, hair provides a bit of friction. When it’s gone – nothing muffles the sound,” explained S. Baus.

Her video quickly spread, and the comments were full of women who claimed to have noticed a similar change, writes “The New York Post.”

“I couldn’t believe how loud every time sounded,” wrote one commenter.

Another admitted that after Brazilian waxing, her husband supposedly can no longer compete with her for louder gas.

But is hair removal really to blame for this?

Courtney Claghorn, founder of the beauty salon chain “SUGARED + BRONZED” operating in New York, California, and elsewhere, says that this theory is not entirely far-fetched.

According to her, after hair removal, the skin becomes completely smooth, increasing skin-to-skin contact. Especially when the skin is moist, this can sometimes cause unexpected sounds.

However, the specialist emphasized that most of her clients do not complain about noticeably louder gas.

After the procedure, she recommends ensuring the skin is cool and dry, as well as choosing loose, breathable underwear and clothing. This can help reduce friction and moisture.

“After Brazilian waxing, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before intimate relations. If you are prone to ingrown hairs, it’s better to wait 48 hours,” said C. Claghorn.
