Women are significantly more active than men – they made 7,441 wills, men – 4,759.

In 2025, women made 16.3 thousand wills, men – about 10 thousand.
This year, most wills were made by residents aged 70 to 80 – 3,713 wills, aged 60 to 70 – 3,367 wills.
Most often, a will, which states what property a person leaves to whom after death, is certified by a notary.
A person can also write a personal will, which must be handwritten by the testator.

A person making a personal will must specify:
• name and surname;
• date and place of will creation;
• their will;
• as well as the testator’s signature.
A personal will handed over to a notary for safekeeping is registered in the Wills Register. If the personal will was not handed over to a notary for safekeeping, it must be submitted for certification to the court no later than one year after the testator’s death.
Data from the Wills Register about made wills and facts of inheritance acceptance/refusal are provided only after the testator’s death.
