“Initially, in the morning, a cold atmospheric front will approach the western edge of Lithuania – there should be heavy rain there. Then this front will continue moving eastward during the day, and in the second half of the day, we will see more intense rain, as well as gusts of wind and thunderstorms in the eastern part of the country,” the specialist explained.
“In some places, it can really rain quite heavily; we are also expecting wind gusts that may reach about 20 m/s, possibly exceeding this number somewhere (…) A short severe storm, you could say we will welcome autumn stormily,” she added.
According to her, more rain in the first half of the day may occur in the areas around Tauragė, Kėdainiai, Marijampolė, Mažeikiai, and Telšiai.
