The Kazakh returned to his homeland after more than four years spent at the helm of Vilnius “Žalgiris”.
Although he managed to win the Lithuanian championship three times and the national cup twice with the capital club, last year, as the team struggled in the lower half of the table and the club was shaken by scandals, fans began demanding V. Čeburinas’s dismissal, until finally the Kazakh left “Žalgiris” together with longtime manager Vilma Venslovaitienė.

Almost a year later, the audit findings of “Žalgiris” revealed huge bonuses that this coach received at the Vilnius club.
Earlier, V. Čeburinas also coached two other Lithuanian teams – Pakruojis “Kruoja” and Marijampolė “Sūduva”. With the latter, the Kazakh also became Lithuanian champion three times (2017-2019).
