Event creator company “Rekūrai” director Aurimas Kamantauskas was admitted by Kristupas – he tends to engage in self-criticism and scold himself after every difficult-to-avoid bad emphasis in live broadcast. “When you work live, I think you are in constant negotiations with yourself and that mentioned perfectionist, because you cannot be perfect live. Far from it. Without a doubt, you strive for everything to go as smoothly and as well as possible. But you really have to admit to yourself that it is impossible, that you will still get stuck somewhere, that you will mispronounce the interlocutor’s surname. And I tend to scold myself for that,” admits the well-known face of LRT.

In dreams – late for work
In three years, Kristupas has never overslept a broadcast, but he has dreamed that colleagues are looking for him – that happens. “I think the bigger problem and challenge is not the possible oversleeping, but dealing with yourself because of the fear of oversleeping. You set the alarm, go to bed at midnight, get up after four hours – you realize that there is little rest. You go to sleep and then open your eyes. Aha, I feel quite alert. Maybe I already overslept, because, well, feeling like that considering the four hours of sleep is simply impossible. And then you get up to check how many hours – half past one. You slept one and a half hours, and your body is already waking you up from that anxiety,” says K. Naraškevičius, who looks very alert on air.
Kristupas’s biggest support team is his wife and brothers. His older brother, a year older than Kristupas, always loudly passes on compliments from his colleagues. Kristupas’s younger brother is more than ten years younger and, according to Kristupas, although he doesn’t watch much TV, he supports his brother.

Becoming the host of a well-known TV show, Kristupas warned his parents not to read comments online: “My parents are very reserved and quite modest people. They are very proud parents. And mentioning that modesty, I also have certain challenges that came to me when I entered that more public world, because, well, it is still not quite usual.” Kristupas is grateful to his parents for his and his brothers’ achievements: “In childhood, my parents managed to respond to our different needs, even though they did not always have the right conditions for that. And I still regularly pause and think that you worked hard, and I think you worked very well.”
Realized he was famous at the market
Kristupas hosts a show on LRT Opus radio station, where his hosting style is different from “Good Morning.” He values radio lessons as a serious foundation: “Radio taught me to relax at least a little, although I really had a long problem with relaxing on the radio. I remember, when I was going to host the first show, I wrote down on a sheet ‘Good day, dear listeners, I am Kristupas Naraškevičius,’ because I was afraid that, who knows, maybe I could forget that name and surname. That school was not very easy.”

Asked by Aurimas Kamantauskas, host of “Kamantinėjimai,” how life and recognition changed after starting to host one of the most watched shows, Kristupas recalled that he realized the change after just a few weeks. “We went to Kalvarijų market. I was in sweatpants, messy, wearing a cap. I remember we were visiting the meat section and were already leaving the pavilion to go outside when one of the sellers from the other hall started shouting: ‘You are the new host of “Good Morning”!’ I remember turning around and repeating: ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.’ Almost wanted to wave goodbye, run, hide… That was the first encounter,” laughs Kristupas Naraškevičius.

Still, Kristupas admits: there is both a person in him who enjoys television and attention, and a big introvert who would like to be less visible and more hidden. The TV face firmly says – he has never had and does not have a star disease.
