The Tu-95 is a Soviet strategic bomber-missile carrier, developed and adopted by the USSR in the 1960s. Since the start of Russia’s large-scale invasion, these aircraft have been launching Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles into Ukraine. In total, the modernized Tu-95MSM missile carrier can carry 18 missiles.

Earlier, explosions were reported in the Russian city of Engels; monitoring channels wrote about a nighttime attack on an aviation base where strategic bombers used for Russian strikes against Ukraine are stationed.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed that on August 28, the Yaroslavl oil refinery – one of the largest oil refining enterprises of the aggressor country – was attacked in Russia.
