On Wednesday, around midnight local time (1 a.m. Lithuanian time on Thursday), a witness reported to the authorities that some objects might have been thrown from a car, AFP said quoting a police spokesperson.

According to him, the police found one burning incendiary device and it was immediately extinguished. The second device was neutralized.

“Several weapons companies are located in the building complex, so we assume this is politically motivated,” the police spokesperson said.

He refused to provide more detailed information about the companies located there.

According to him, officers started a search and detained a 38-year-old Bulgarian man and a 28-year-old Bulgarian woman at a gas station in Munich.

The incident occurred at a time when Germany, a key supporter of Ukraine in its fight against Russia, is on heightened alert due to sabotage conspiracies related to Moscow.

Berlin accused Russia of recruiting “low-level agents” to carry out such actions, mostly individuals paid small sums and who are poorly trained.

Tensions rose this week after Berlin officially accused Russia of attempting a hybrid attack last month, when a drone loaded with explosives was used at the strategic Leipzig airport, and announced diplomatic countermeasures.
