On July 13, Newsmax host Greg Kelly asked D. Trump if he had any concerns or suspicions about the senator’s death, considering that “the Russians have a habit of targeting those they dislike.”
The president emphasized that the senator had “serious” health problems.
“In response to this conspiracy theory, I would gladly say ‘yes,’ but I think he had problems [with health]… and his father died at about the same age. He had problems that were quite deeply rooted, and predicting them was not so simple,” Trump said.
He added that, according to doctors’ reports, a certain part of L. Graham’s body “just exploded.”
On Monday, the senator’s office announced that, based on preliminary forensic experts’ conclusions, the politician died due to an internal aortic wall rupture.
It was noted that the official cause of death will be announced after the necessary examinations. The senator, who actively supported Ukraine and urged pressure on Russia, died on July 11 at his home on Capitol Hill. The day before, he visited Kyiv, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
British financier Bill Browder spoke about the possibility that L. Graham was killed by Russian special services.
“I don’t want to be a conspiracy theory supporter, but Lindsey Graham was the main initiator of the bill on devastating sanctions against Russia… He just returned from Ukraine, where, as is known, Russian agents operate. The Russians are experts in poisons whose [effects] resemble heart attacks,” he wrote on the social network X.
Moreover, B. Browder urged to “immediately” conduct all necessary examinations, as he “has seen enough suspicious deaths related to Russia.”
Similar suspicions were expressed by sociologist Igor Eidman. In his opinion, in the Kremlin, L. Graham was considered a person responsible for the change in D. Trump’s position towards Russia.
The sociologist suggested that during the last visit to Ukraine, Russian special services could have poisoned the senator, for example, using slow-acting poisons.
The version that the Republican was poisoned by Russia or Iran was also supported by the “MAGA” movement activist and D. Trump supporter Laura Loomer, who demanded an immediate toxicological examination.
Deputy Chairwoman of the International Committee of the Russian State Duma Svetlana Zhurova stated that this is allegedly a “public relations move” aimed at increasing popularity before the elections.
