As reported by the port administration, the data on the countries of origin of the cargo are indicative and based on information provided by the terminals. They show that last year the volume of agricultural cargo of Russian and Belarusian origin in the Port of Riga amounted to 630,000 tons, of which 260,000 tons were feed.

Commenting on the proposal to stop the transit of Russian and Belarusian grain through Latvia, the port administration emphasized that cargo from Russia and Belarus, as well as from Ukraine, is sold on global markets and shipped through Latvian ports by international grain traders who, among other things, trade grain grown by Latvian and Lithuanian farmers, as well as farmers from other countries.
