According to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (“Meteo LT”), the upcoming day will bring rain, thunderstorms, and in some places, hail.
“On Thursday night, there will be brief rain in many places, mostly in Western Lithuania. Fog in some areas. Wind of variable direction, 2–7 m/s. Lowest temperature 10–15 degrees Celsius. During the day, short rains and thunderstorms in many places. Heavy rain in some areas, hail possible.
Wind of variable direction, 4–9 m/s. Highest temperature 17–22 degrees Celsius,” states the “Meteo LT” forecast.
On the map of dangerous phenomena published by the service, almost all of Lithuania is yellow on Thursday. Only Klaipėda and Telšiai counties currently have no warnings.
Elsewhere in Lithuania, it is warned that thunderstorms may rumble in many places. And in Vilnius and Utena counties, fog may also occur.
On Friday night, there will also be brief rain in some places. Fog in some areas. Light wind. Temperature 9–14 degrees Celsius. During the day, short rains in most districts, thunderstorms in some places. Wind from northern directions, 4–9 m/s. Temperature 18–23 degrees Celsius.
There is also a yellow warning for Friday – residents of Kaunas, Marijampolė, and Alytus counties are warned about fog, and in Vilnius county, there may be both fog and local thunderstorms. Utena and Panevėžys counties may also experience thunderstorms.
On Saturday, brief rain in some places. Fog in some areas at night. Wind from western directions, 4–9 m/s at night, 6–11 m/s during the day. Temperature 10–15 degrees Celsius at night, 19–24 degrees Celsius during the day.
On Sunday, according to forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė, it should be drier and warmer.
This week is characterized by unsettled weather. On Tuesday, it rained very heavily in some places, and in Piniava, Panevėžys district, hail fell, whitening everything.
