The winner Sigitas Ivinskas is well known to loyal viewers of LRT television’s “Golden Mind” – he has participated multiple times in the regular season games and even became the champion of the tenth season. From now on, he can proudly hold the title of double golden champion.
“Speaking in tennis terms, in the list of Grand Slam tournaments, I only have to win the quiz ‘Who and Why?’,” joked S. Ivinskas after his victory.
Comparing the traditional and summer “Golden Mind,” the winner named the advantage of the latter as the fact that each subgroup plays twice: “You can make up for it if you didn’t do well the first time. Or mess up both times. Then you would have to go back to the books. For me, coming for the game itself rather than the victory, I really liked this format. A fantastic thing. Besides, I am convinced that winning without a factor of luck is impossible.”
The victory in the summer league brought S. Ivinskas a cash prize of 2,000 euros and guaranteed a place in the regular “Golden Mind” finals.
Second place in the game was taken by journalist and communications specialist Donata Baniūnienė from the Adam Mickiewicz Public Library of Vilnius County, who lost to S. Ivinskas in the final. She won 1,000 euros.

Third place and a prize of 500 euros went to another representative of the librarians’ subgroup – Jolanta Lašienė from Kamajai, Rokiškis district.
The final also featured the winner of the wives and husbands subgroup, information systems developer from Gargždai Jurgita Riekašienė, student Lukas Zujevas from Jonava representing the “Millennium Children” alumni, and the winner of the Arūnas-Andrius subgroup, programmer Arūnas Tamoševičius from Vilnius.
The new 13th season of “Golden Mind” with the irreplaceable hosts Arūnas Valinskas and Andrius Tapinas will start on LRT television on September 4.
