“We wanted to create a space where the history of the Narrow Gauge Railway would not only be told but also seen and experienced. The museum and the street art drawing in the Narrow Gauge Railway depot area complement the story of the narrow gauge railway history, give it new forms, and allow visitors to look at the railway heritage in a new way,” said Darius Liutikas, director of the Aukštaitija Narrow Gauge Railway.
The museum tells the story of the narrow gauge railway, and the building is decorated with a drawing by Tadas Šimkus. It depicts the railway station environment, passengers, and trains.

According to the Aukštaitija Narrow Gauge Railway announcement, the main idea of this work is to visually connect the different architectural buildings of the Narrow Gauge Railway depot: the white brick annex and the solid red brick historic buildings.
The narrow gauge railway in Aukštaitija was laid at the end of the 19th century. In 2001, it ceased to operate as a means of transport and became a tourist attraction. In 2003, part of this complex was declared cultural monuments.
