E. Musk said on Monday that while overseeing the construction of the “xAI” company’s “Macrohard” data center complex in Tennessee, he considers an “Airstream” trailer home on wheels as his residence.

Earlier this year, the company “SpaceX,” which took over “xAI,” is rushing to increase the capacity of servers with GPU processors, so the billionaire has been spending the last few months in Memphis. Musk says that instead of wasting time traveling, he stays right there, just steps away from the servers.
Participating in the technology podcast “All-In” event, Musk called his trailer a palace – which caused laughter among both the show’s hosts and SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell.
Founded in 1931, the “Airstream” company is famous for its iconic aluminum-bodied camper, called the silver bullet. This design was introduced back in 1936 and has remained almost unchanged since then.

Staying overnight in the trailer perfectly suits Musk’s character. The billionaire has long been known for sleeping right at the workplace instead of wasting time traveling, and his choice of personal homes is usually quite modest.
After acquiring Twitter (now X) in 2022, he slept at the company’s headquarters in San Francisco. For many years, his main residence was a rented house worth about $50,000 in Texas, near the SpaceX base Starbase in Boca Chica.
