The office warns: it is dangerous to visit this forest after the fire

After a forest fire in the Kenos forestry of the VMU Šalčininkai regional division, in quarter 207, 4.2 hectares of forest area burned down. The fire damaged the forest floor, shrubs, undergrowth, and tree trunks. Although at first glance some trees may appear healthy, after the fire they may be less stable and pose a danger.

For this reason, VMU asks residents and forest visitors not to visit the fire-affected area for now. Its perimeter is marked with STOP tape – please do not cross it.

VMU foresters will monitor how the forest recovers after the fire. It is expected that the majority of the pines will remain viable, but it takes time to assess this, so no work will be carried out in this area in the near future.
