Giedrius does not hide that the news about a new partner immediately made him happy. “Finally! Finally! Finally! I thought – finally,” Giedrius laughs. The actor is convinced that their long-standing acquaintance will become their biggest advantage. “It will only help, it will be easy to work. If needed, we’ll act everything out!”

Toma Vaškevičiūtė is no less happy, for whom this will be her first television project as a host. “I’m really looking forward to it, I can’t wait, I love Giedrius as a partner on stage, in the theatre, and now – a new experience, our journey continues and our baggage of experiences is filling up. It’s great that we can create another fun project on television. I can’t wait to learn a lot from him, because he is one of the best TV hosts in Lithuania, who finds a way into every viewer’s heart. It will be good to bask in his light. A great joy and honour.”
The actress does not hide that this offer is special to her. “This will be my first time as a show host. I have hosted live broadcasts of the ‘Golden Stage Crosses’, true, I host live events, but no one broadcasts them…”
Toma and Giedrius’ creative partnership began many years ago. “Oskaras Koršunovas brought us together in ‘Tartuffe’. We performed not only in Lithuania – we travelled a lot of the world, and when you not only work with a person in Lithuania but also share travels and life, other experiences emerge. I remember that in Shanghai we went to the ‘Dior’ museum, we visited many fun places all over the world.”
Their joint works were appreciated not only in Lithuania. “Our play was successful everywhere, even in the theatre sanctuary in Avignon. Everywhere the halls roared with laughter, people gave standing ovations, they received us very well, even though we were nobody there – after all, no one knew us. It’s not fame that works, but what you create.”

And today, both actors continue to travel together around Lithuania. “Now Giedrius and I are touring Lithuania with the play ‘An Open Couple’ – a very delightful work, very successful, people laugh a lot, it’s a pure pleasure.”
Although the role of host will be a new experience for Toma, the project itself is not unfamiliar to her.
“‘Star Duets’ – for me, it’s a legendary show from my childhood, now it’s coming true in my life. I watched the entire last season because of my friend Naglis who participated – he would ask for advice because he was immersed in creative agony, and my fiancé Aleksandras and I even directed a number for him.”
The long-standing stage partnership is moving to television this autumn. Giedrius Savickas and Toma Vaškevičiūtė will host one of the most popular musical projects in Lithuania together for the first time.
