Letters received by plot owners from Vilnius City Municipality state that they are being contacted “regarding the acquisition of a land plot near Galvės Street for public needs”.

It is further reported that, in accordance with legal acts, the land plot belonging to the owner is being acquired for public needs “for the construction (installation) of a road (Galvės Street)”.
“In order to implement the transport infrastructure development project in the territory of Vilnius City Municipality and to satisfy this public interest, based on the solutions of the Special Plan and the results of the cost-benefit analysis performed by UAB „Tyrens Lietuva“, it is planned to reconstruct the section of the Commonwealth Highway into a four-lane road with a median strip and a main pedestrian and bicycle path in the parts of the Land Plot and other land plots intended for public acquisition,” states the official letter to the plot owners.

However, it does not specify exactly when the acquisition will take place or how much owners can expect for their plots.
