In the sets of Tomas Boo, who has been involved in music for more than three decades, classical disco, funk, house, synthpop, and contemporary dance music meet. This time, preparing for the performance, there was no need to look long for a special direction – OMD’s music has accompanied him for many years.

“The greatest honor is to warm up those who greatly helped shape my musical taste. ‘Souvenir,’ ‘Electricity,’ and other songs made you think, not just listen. OMD always has a place in my record bag. See you at the concert!” says Tomas Boo.
OMD is coming to Vilnius with the aptly named “Summer Of Hits” tour, featuring songs spanning nearly five decades of the band’s history. “Electricity,” “Messages,” “Enola Gay,” “Souvenir,” “Maid of Orleans,” “Locomotion,” “So In Love,” “Sailing On The Seven Seas,” and other hits not only made OMD one of the most significant British bands of the 1980s but also became a source of inspiration for many electronic and pop music stars – from Depeche Mode and Duran Duran to Moby, Radiohead, and Arcade Fire.

OMD’s story began in 1978 in Liverpool when Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, inspired by Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, David Bowie, and German krautrock, started experimenting with electronic music. Their first single “Electricity” helped the duo sign a record deal, and soon after, “Messages” and “Enola Gay” brought the band international recognition.

Released in 1981, “Architecture & Morality” with “Souvenir,” “Joan of Arc,” and “Maid of Orleans” became one of OMD’s most important albums, later supplemented by “Tesla Girls,” “Talking Loud and Clear,” “Locomotion,” “So In Love,” “If You Leave,” “Sailing On The Seven Seas,” “Pandora’s Box,” and many other songs.
After a decade-long break, OMD reformed in 2006, and their comeback was not limited to concerts and performing old hits. The band released four new studio albums, the latest being 2023’s “Bauhaus Staircase.” Over nearly five decades, OMD has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and established itself among the most important names in British electronic pop music.
OMD concerts are always full of energy, greatest hits, and surprises, so their performance in Vilnius promises an equally memorable evening. Tickets for the OMD “Summer Of Hits” concert on August 26 at Lukiškės Prison 2.0 are sold by BILIETAI.LT.
