According to D. Peskov, the crisis caused by the war against Ukraine has “united the country,” regardless of political considerations.
“This is, among other things, due to these circumstances that caused the very storm that made us stronger,” the Kremlin press secretary noted.
D. Peskov emphasized that sovereignty, including technological sovereignty, cannot develop in a “comfort zone” and is formed precisely under crisis conditions.
He said that Russia has also learned lessons from relations with the West and now understands that only independence and self-sufficiency will prevent the application of “neocolonial methods” against it.
Russian sovereignty must be defended not only in politics and economics but also in the media space, D. Peskov indicated.
After that, D. Peskov publicly urged to tell Russians more often about the country’s achievements and pay less attention to negative topics. He regretted that the audience prefers to read “sensational, negative things, when someone stole something, someone killed someone,” emphasizing that “this trend needs to be changed.”
