Proposals presented to Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius on Friday would allow local governments to increase the attractiveness of regions for business and residents, reduce dependence on central government, the Lithuanian Association of Local Authorities (LSA) reported.
“The time has come to review the very system of PIT distribution and make part of this tax an independent source of municipal revenue by introducing two levels – national PIT and municipal PIT,” LSA President Audrius Klišonis said in a statement.
