According to a police report obtained from the Brazilian news portal g1, officials from the municipality of Mãe do Rio in northern Brazil responded to gunfire sounds on Wednesday morning. According to portal g1, Dantas’ relatives told the military police that two men broke into the house, dragged the girl into the yard, fired several shots at her, then sprayed the acronym “TCP” (which the police say stands for the Brazilian criminal group Terceiro Comando Puro) and drove away by car.
The police report also reveals that Dantas was arrested in July during an investigation into the killing of a local police sergeant and was released on bail on September 9.

“We are seriously considering the version that this was revenge or evidence destruction carried out by a criminal group,” the military police chief told journalists about a possible connection between Dantas’ murder and her previous arrest. “This is one of the main directions of our investigation.”
Dantas last updated her TikTok account in January 2025, when she shared a video.
