According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (ŠMSM), a school planned for about 500–600 students is to be built in Vilnius, Drujos Street, and a school in Kaunas, Verkių Street, is to be reconstructed to accommodate about 200 students.

As the ministry told BNS, about 45.869 million euros are planned for the construction of the Vilnius school and kindergarten, and about 10.75 million euros for the reconstruction of the Kaunas school.
Funds are allocated from the state budget and funds borrowed on behalf of the state. These include not only construction and reconstruction, but also design, equipment, and other expenses related to project implementation.
According to the ministry, Vilnius city municipality is currently organizing an architectural competition for the school, while Kaunas city municipality is carrying out the reconstruction design.

According to ŠMSM, the reconstructed school in Kaunas is planned to open in September 2028, and the new school in Vilnius no later than 2032.
The development of school infrastructure is related to the agreement between Lithuania and Germany on cooperation in the field of defense. Under this agreement, Lithuania committed to ensure the infrastructure of educational institutions for German soldiers and their family members, including its construction or expansion.
BNS wrote that Germany intends to deploy 4–5 thousand soldiers in Lithuania by the end of 2027. Some of the German brigade soldiers have arrived or plan to arrive in the country with their families.
