The French basketball team won 5 victories and suffered 1 defeat in the first qualifying round. They are currently leading Group L and will play at home against Slovenia on August 27, and away against Sweden on August 30.

France will have the “San Antonio Spurs” leader Victor Wembanyama in their lineup. This year, his team marched all the way to the NBA finals, where they lost 1:4 to the “New York Knicks”.

The 22-year-old Frenchman finished third in the NBA MVP voting last season. In 64 games, he averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game.
