CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team pilot Antanas Kanopkinas says the day was very good but at the same time very challenging, primarily due to the high altitudes that had to be climbed during the special stage.
“Another very good, very unreal and incredibly difficult day. We climbed to 3200 meters above sea level, where we had to catch air like fish. It was hard to work for the quad bike as well, but we already faced the same problem yesterday – however, we consulted with the mechanics in advance and made a certain technical decision that proved effective,” Kanopkinas said after the finish and added that the track was especially difficult today, with many stones, so he had to be 100 percent focused all the time.
“I am glad that we brought another medal and add another day’s victory to both the team’s and my personal record,” the athlete rejoiced.

On Friday, athletes face the last and decisive day of the Desafio Ruta 40 rally. Participants will start and finish in the city of San Juan, and during the day they will have to cover a 340-kilometer special stage and more than 230 kilometers of liaison sections. Organizers predict a very fast stage, where most of the route will be hard ground, but there will also be difficult mountain sections and dangerous descents.
Altitude will again be a serious challenge – the route will rise to more than 3300 meters above sea level. Organizers also note that the last day of the rally will require maximum concentration, as after four very tough stages, fatigue will become another important factor in the fight for the final results.
