The Ukrainian leader added that today decisions regarding changes in the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be formalized, and relevant decrees are being prepared.
V. Zelensky also announced that during the meeting it was decided how the former Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi and the former Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov will serve Ukraine’s defense.
At the meeting, which was attended by new military commanders, the development of Ukraine’s cyber forces, troop training, and strengthening of unit capabilities, as well as the development of the corps system, were also discussed. V. Zelensky stated that an effective mobilization process was set as a priority to ensure the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ ability to carry out defense tasks.

The effectiveness of medium-range and long-range strikes, defensive operations in the Oleksandrivsk direction were analyzed, and actions to accelerate the implementation of the “Freja” anti-missile program and cooperation with the US on licenses for “Patriot” missile production were identified, the report states.
I. Skybiuk has served as Deputy Chief of the General Staff since 2025. Previously, he was the commander of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces. In 2022, he commanded the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade, which liberated Izyum during the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive in Kharkiv.
