His last event will take place at St. Catherine’s Church, during which the Vilnius City Mayor’s Awards and the Laimonas Noreika Award will be presented.

This year’s “Poetry Spring” program included about 130 free events in Lithuania and abroad, with poetry readings and discussions taking place over two weeks.
The laureate of the 62nd “Poetry Spring” was poet Giedrė Kazlauskaitė. She was awarded in May during the festival opening at the Energy and Technology Museum.
This recognition was given to the poet for her poetry collection “Marialė” – her fifth poetry book, which last year also received the Jotvingiai Prize.

G. Kazlauskaitė’s work is characterized by intellectual irony, sensitivity, and courage to speak about motherhood, faith, and the experiences of the LGBT community.
“Poetry Spring” has been held annually since 1965. The first festival was organized to commemorate the 20th anniversary of poet Salomėja Nėris’s death.
The festival is organized by the Lithuanian Writers’ Union, funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, the LATGA association, the Department of National Minorities, and the Vilnius City Municipality.
