Images from the Poetry Park in Marijampolė spread rapidly on social networks from Wednesday evening. It was captured how one teenager was pulling another by the hair, hitting her with a phone, while bystanders were busy filming and no one even tried to help the victim.
Prosecutors announce the start of a pre-trial investigation, it turns out that the families were already known to child rights specialists.

As a teacher from one of Marijampolė’s high schools, A. Miliauskas, wrote on Facebook, he felt obliged to speak out, even though he does not know these students, because “it is hard to recover from the images.”
“You have probably all seen the video by now. I will not share the video. I share the most brutal images (STOP FRAMES, without faces, but with frames that reflect the situation)…
Do you understand where I am leaning? What beautiful outfits, branded t-shirts, fashionable clothes, the latest phones, but inside – rotten. POETRY PARK – what a beautiful place… But the images – horrifying.
It is cruel when the attacker hits the head with a phone (then one girl takes it away, thank God), but the attacker continues with fists and whatever else comes to hand. Pity the victim. Pity even the attacker and her parents in a certain sense (if they feel sorry). Because this will be a mark for life. Everyone has already condemned the attacker and her parents…

But what is even more brutal to me are those guys. Specifically, the one with the VENICE shirt after the most brutal attack kept encouraging: “pi pi pi, hit, hit, hit.” They gave each other high fives. They laughed. Filmed from close and far. Uploaded the video “MIAMI ACTION”… So, even uploading the video they do not realize what mistake they made. All this is a crime. If they were stabbing, would they also film? Where is the line?” – asks the teacher.
A. Miliauskas is open – he says he would most of all not want “to be the father of any of them”: “Because honestly, I do not know what I would do if I saw my son behaving like that. Most likely, I would have to spend some time in jail.
You might say, how can a teacher talk like that? I speak what I think, accept it. Honestly, I do not know how I would control my anger.
Guys – burn those shirts of yours. They are a symbol of your shame. I guarantee, parents will recognize their heroes – be sure to talk about manhood, nobility, defending the weaker. I do not believe that we are not raising men. We must raise men.
There is a minority of men in the education system. I must speak from this position. I even feel a duty. If there were real men in that incident – it would have ended in a couple of seconds. Unfortunately. (I am talking about basic humanity – not encouraging, not laughing, not filming for fun, calling adults or the police).”
His advice – talk. First of all, parents with their sons.
Also, A. Miliauskas says he hopes that many young people follow him on social networks, so he hopes that “at least one of them, finding themselves in a similar situation, will remember this post and choose not to film, not to encourage, but to help.”
“Let’s learn even from bad examples. Sometimes they most clearly show what kind of people we do not want to become,” – concludes the teacher from Marijampolė.
