It is stated that until now, the practice applied by LRT was based on the aim to reconcile the principle of transparency with the protection of personal data, therefore the names and surnames of individuals – suppliers – were not disclosed. However, the prosecutor’s office indicated that decisions on non-disclosure must be based on an individual assessment of each case.

It is announced that after evaluating the position expressed by the prosecutor’s office, LRT decided to disclose data of all suppliers on equal principles, thus ensuring greater transparency, legal clarity, equal treatment of all suppliers, and clear rules for all market participants.

“This issue was not simple, so we consulted with responsible institutions, seeking the most appropriate balance between transparency and the protection of personal data. The position of the General Prosecutor’s Office brought more clarity, so from now on we will publish data of all – both legal entities and individuals,” said LRT General Director Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė in a statement.

The broadcaster announces that the updated report contains information about suppliers with whom contracts were signed in 2025. Some of the contracts presented in the report were signed for several years.

It is stated that among last year’s program purchase suppliers there are also some LRT employees – this is based on a practice that previously applied to payment for additional content creation.

However, having implemented the recommendations of the State Control, LRT changed the payment procedure applied in such cases this year, so LRT employees will appear among program purchase suppliers only in exceptional cases.

LRT emphasizes that it constantly publishes various data about its activities, including activity and financial reports, information about public and program purchases, employee salaries, information about official cars, auctions.
