As announced by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, Gediminas Rainys has died: “We sadly announce that the former General Director and Vice President of the Executive Directorate of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, Doctor of Social Sciences Gediminas Rainys, has passed away.

From 2009 to 2015, as head of the LPK Executive Directorate, he contributed to strengthening the organization’s activities and uniting the Lithuanian business community.
During his professional career, G. Rainys also served as Deputy Minister and Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, and worked as an economic advisor to the Mayor of Vilnius. In recent years, he was an economic advisor to the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts Association,” the statement reads, also expressing sincere condolences to Gediminas Rainys’s relatives, friends, and all who had the honor to work with him.
This news is also shared by the Lithuanian Business Confederation. It is stated that G. Rainys also worked at the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, where he served as an economic advisor and head of the European Policy Group.
