This year’s “Adamkiada” is dedicated to the upcoming 100th anniversary of President Valdas Adamkus. It is planned that he will participate in the opening of the event and deliver a greeting speech.

According to the organizers, the president’s personal attention to youth and an active lifestyle gives the event a special spirit every year, inspiring students to strive for excellence in both academics, sports, and the arts.
During the celebration, students will compete in sports events in mixed teams, participate in the art plein air “Letter to the President” and the song festival “Century Generation: Singing for Lithuania,” and try their hand at entertainment attractions and a lottery.
The event will also feature a performance by the Alytus Music School symphony orchestra “Svajonė” and performer Linas Adomaitis.

According to the organizers of “Adamkiada,” the event continues a tradition previously nurtured by the Alma Adamkienė Charity and Support Fund. It supported students, teachers, and educational institutions from Lithuanian regions for many years.
The organizers state that the goal of the celebration is to bring together students from different Lithuanian regions, provide them with the opportunity to compete in sports and art events, and get to know their peers.

“Adamkiada” is organized by the Butrimonys Gymnasium of Alytus district and VDU.
