“Attention! The New Akmenė city festival is canceled due to hazardous weather conditions,” the mayor announced.

The decision was made due to forecasted unfavorable weather and the associated risk to the safety of event participants and visitors.

Due to bad weather, plans also had to be changed in Kretinga. The opening event of the new mountain bike park, scheduled for August 22, was postponed due to forecasted heavy rain.

For the opening of the park on Mėguva Street, races, track testing, and other active leisure activities were planned. The organizers announced that the event will take place at another time, and the new date will be announced separately.

Due to rain, the free environmental festival “Darom prie jūros” scheduled to take place this weekend in Melnragė is also canceled.

The event planned for August 21–23 included coastal cleanup actions, education, entertainment, concerts, and a hike. The organizers announced before the event that they had received a record number of participant registrations, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, the festival had to be canceled.
