The most perfect scores this year were achieved in the information technology exam, where graduates received thirty-two highest marks. The mathematics A level exam also went well, with twenty perfect scores, and the English language exam – sixteen. The Lithuanian language and literature exam received twelve perfect scores. The geography exam earned five, history and chemistry – four each, biology – three highest marks. One perfect score was received in physics, economics and entrepreneurship, and mathematics B level exams, and two in the national minority (Russian) language exam.
The most outstanding this year was the “Ąžuolyno” gymnasium, whose students earned as many as 62 perfect scores. One student of this gymnasium received four perfect scores, and three students – three each. Excellent results were also demonstrated by the Herman Zuderman gymnasium, where 2 perfect scores were earned in the English language state maturity exams and 16 highest marks in the international German language exam. Klaipėda Lyceum received 17 perfect scores in state maturity exams and even 36 highest marks in the International Baccalaureate program. Here one student earned five perfect scores, and another – four.
As in previous years, the Klaipėda city municipality will allocate 100 euros for each perfect score earned by each graduate. Teachers will also be thanked – they will receive 300 euros for each perfect score earned by a student.
The award ceremony will take place on July 22 in the conference hall of the Klaipėda Castle Museum.
After the exam results are announced, students can submit an appeal request to their school principal within two working days. Along with the request, the student can also provide a reasoned explanation for the appeal request. After the appeals are reviewed, the results may remain the same, increase, or decrease.
According to the National Education Agency, the pass rates for most exams remain high, and the results of some subjects, such as chemistry and history, are even better than last year.
After all results are announced, schools can already issue graduation certificates. To obtain a graduation certificate, it is necessary to pass at least two state maturity exams (Lithuanian language and literature A or B course and one other chosen exam). Certificates are issued only in digital format in Lithuanian and English. The graduation certificate is considered issued from the moment it is registered in the Register of Diplomas, Certificates, and Qualification Certificates.
From this academic year, a uniform passing threshold of 25 points applies to all exams. The maximum possible number of points from both parts of the exam is 100. The first part of the exam
accounts for 40%, the second part – 60% of the final result, except for the Lithuanian language and literature exam: the first part – 30%, the second part – 70%. The final exam result consists of the sum of the points from the first and second parts of the exam, which are converted into grades.
