Although the main part of the storm in Lithuania has already passed, very strong wind gusts are still being recorded in Molėtai on Sunday. Local residents warn that it remains unsafe outside – trees are breaking and falling, branches are falling from them, so people are advised not to go outside unless necessary and to stay away from trees.

Images and stories about the still raging storm are being shared on social networks. According to one resident, the situation is changing very quickly, and the strong wind is knocking down trees one after another.
“The wind is so strong that trees are simply falling one after another, branches are breaking, and everything is happening so fast that I don’t even have time to take photos,” it is written from Molėtai.
Residents are urged not to take risks and to avoid places where large trees grow. With such wind, it is impossible to predict which tree or branch may not withstand the gusts.
“It is really unsafe outside – it is better not to go outside without a good reason and not to stay near trees, because you never know which tree might not withstand such wind,” the message warns.
Although the biggest blow of the storm reached the country on Saturday, in some areas its consequences and dangerous weather conditions remain on Sunday.
Residents of Molėtai are urged to protect themselves, their cars, and other property and to be especially careful outside.
The Alanta Manor Park in the Molėtai district was also affected. The strong wind here knocked down and broke trees, so the park area also remains dangerous. Residents and visitors are advised to avoid damaged trees and places where branches or trees may still break or fall due to strong gusts.
