As reported by the Kretinga district municipality, the renovated sports and leisure area will be available not only to the gymnasium students but also to the entire city community.

The reconstruction work was carried out by the company “Rolana”. The National Sports Agency allocated 500 thousand euros for the works and the municipality – 285 thousand euros.
During the stadium renovation, an artificial turf football field with running tracks, two basketball courts, outdoor tennis and volleyball courts, athletics sectors, an outdoor gym area, and a children’s playground were installed.
“We are glad that from now on the residents of Salantai will also have the opportunity to exercise and spend time actively in a modern stadium. We aim for quality sports infrastructure to be accessible to as many residents as possible – both those living in cities and in more remote settlements,” said Antanas Kalnius, mayor of Kretinga district, in the statement.
According to him, the reconstruction of the Vydmantai gymnasium stadium will begin in autumn, and it is also planned to renovate the stadiums of the Kartenos and Jokūbavas Aleksandras Stulginskis school-multifunctional centers.
