“I am very happy about that. This is my first time here, so I will try to take as much as possible, go out and see as much of the city as I can. But most of all, I am happy that I will meet my teammates, meet the fans, and be able to run out onto the court,” said M. Devoe.
Although the entire roster is completely new to the American, he does not hide that he arrives with a clear goal to aim for the highest awards.
“I think the most important thing will be just to gel with the team. As I said, this is a new team, and I am just very happy about that. I mean, you just won the championship last year, so that is something I also want to do. So I am really looking forward to it,” said the guard.

Besides basketball, M. Devoe intends to immerse himself in the rhythm of life in Vilnius:
“I am very interested in the local culture. I have never been here before, so I want to experience everything: try new food, discover different restaurants, and enjoy the views – it really looks beautiful here, so I definitely want to see everything.”
- The 26-year-old 195 cm tall guard Michael Devoe signed a one-year contract with Rytas this summer.
- Last season, the guard played for Ankara’s Turk Telekom in the Turkish championship and the European Cup competitions.
- In the European Cup tournament, the basketball player played 20 games, averaging 9.0 points (2-pointers 51.9%), 2.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and recorded 10.4 efficiency points per game.
- In the Turkish championship, M. Devoe played 25 matches and averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and shot 41.4% from long range.
- “Michael is a talented and versatile guard who can successfully play in several positions,” said Vilnius Rytas sports director Artūras Jomantas. “He is a player who stands out with good court vision, the ability to successfully finish attacks himself, and create opportunities for teammates.”
Although he does not yet have familiar faces on the team, the basketball player sees this as the best possible push forward:
“I am extremely motivated. I have never played with anyone from this team before, so all the people will be new. This is part of a new chapter in my career and I am really looking forward to it.”
