Qualification Interrupted
Two qualifying sessions have been moved to Saturday morning because one of the historic cars (a “Volga” and a VAZ brought on a trailer) spilled oil on the track. As 15min said, Agnius Narbutas, who won the BTC 1, 2, and 3 class qualification (although he drives in the middle BTC2), also slipped on oil on the track – he barely managed to steer. Thus, after the incident, the track became unsafe.
BMW Turbo CUP and Latvians dominated
In the BMW Turbo CUP qualification, Aurimas Mištautas led in the first laps, but soon Rolands Arnis Alfredsons and Artioms Koclamazasvili recorded better lap times. Of course, Aurimas was also hindered by the beginning rain, and Latvians are braver on their home track in such conditions.
BMW 325 CUP qualification moved to Saturday.

BTC1, BTC2, BTC3 group
Here’s great news for Lithuanians. Agnius Narbutas, driving a not-so-powerful “Honda S2000” (BTC2 class), demonstrated the absolute best time in the BTC division.

Second – Latvian Atis Veismanis with a more powerful “Honda Type R EP3” (BTC3). Third – young talent Orestas Burgaila with a “Honda Civic” (BTC2).
“Initially, the asphalt was dry, it wasn’t raining. So I tried to set my best lap time as quickly as possible, and then it started to rain and the surface became slicker,” Agnius Narbutas rejoiced, having overtaken more powerful cars (not for the first time).
GT division awaits Saturday and… rain
GT division qualification, like BMW 325 CUP, has been moved to Saturday.
“We are waiting for the updated schedule, then it will become clear when our qualification will be tomorrow. It just started raining 10 minutes before our official qualification time. We were really looking forward to the rain because due to logistics disruptions, the ordered new tires for a dry track from the Netherlands were not delivered.
So for a dry surface, unfortunately, I only have old tires that have already suffered for two stages… So now we are waiting for the rain and tomorrow morning,” Paulius Urbonavičius, piloting a “Ginetta G55 GT4” (BGT AM class), did not hide his disappointment.
