The project is joined by the performer Rafailas Karpis, well known to the public, whose creative work spans both classical and popular music scenes. Alongside him, the participants’ performances will be judged by comedian and TV host Paulius Vaitiekūnas, performer and songwriter Liepa, and opera soloist Ieva Prudnikovaitė. Meanwhile, former jury member Vytautas Lukočius will join another television project this season, according to a press release.

New jury member Rafailas Karpis says that the invitation to “Duets” pleasantly surprised him.
“I have spent a large part of my creative path on the opera stage, but I have always enjoyed crossing genre boundaries. Music has no borders, so I am very curious to see how people with different experiences seek a common sound and shared emotion on stage.”
According to him, the most important thing when judging performances will not be just vocal accuracy.
“Sometimes a perfect note does not create an impression. And sometimes a sincere glance or genuine emotion reaches the audience more strongly than a technically flawless performance. I would like to see not only well-performed songs but also stories that people tell on stage.”
Rafailas hopes that there will be no shortage of differing opinions on the jury.
“We are very different, so it is natural that we will not always agree. And that is good. One will pay more attention to vocals, another to stage energy or the television impression. I think it is precisely these different perspectives that make such projects interesting.”
The new jury member is happy to have the opportunity to work with already well-known colleagues.
“Paulius has a great sense of television and entertainment dramaturgy, Liepa – the contemporary music scene, Ieva – vocal subtleties, and I will try to look for what is not always measurable on stage – musicality, emotion, and authenticity. I think that is why our opinions will sometimes differ, and it will be interesting both for the participants and the viewers.”

According to the project creators, the composition of the new jury was chosen deliberately.
“We wanted to assemble a jury that reflects the diversity of today’s music world. Rafailas’ experience is not limited to opera – he feels great on television, in concert, and in various genre music projects. We are convinced that his joining will bring new colors to the jury, and together with Paulius Vaitiekūnas, Liepa, and Ieva Prudnikovaitė, they will create one of the strongest juries in the entire history of the project.”
This season, viewers can expect new duets, unexpected combinations of music genres, striking stage solutions, and lots of live music. As in previous seasons, every week professional performers will take the stage together with well-known Lithuanian personalities to surprise not only the jury but also viewers at home.
