“Yesterday around 11 a.m., driving towards Klaipėda, about 100–110 km from Klaipėda, we experienced a very dangerous situation on the road.
My sister and I were driving to a funeral. I was driving in the second lane, and in the first lane, a little ahead, was a truck. Approaching the viaduct, due to the truck, I could not see the lane narrowing and temporary yellow markings ahead.
In my eyes, the truck started to approach the side of my car, and at that moment I felt that the safe gap was practically gone. Instinctively, I moved to the side to avoid a collision with the truck and hit the road barriers. The car started to swerve, but fortunately, I managed to control it and stop.
Everything happened within a few seconds. We were very scared, so we did not manage to remember the truck’s license plates. We also did not have a dashcam in the car.

I do not want to judge who was at fault in this situation or assess the compliance of the road markings with the requirements – I am only describing what I saw and experienced myself.
With this post, I just want to warn other drivers: when driving towards Klaipėda and approaching places where lanes change due to road works or there are temporary yellow markings, be especially careful and reduce your speed.
My sister and I were very lucky yesterday. After such a few seconds, you really understand how fragile the line between a normal trip and an accident can be.
