As every year, the geography of the exhibition participants is very broad. 36 breweries from Europe, North and South America, Asia, as well as guests from the country farthest from Lithuania – New Zealand – come to Vilnius.

All brewers visiting the exhibition will present a total of 140 types of beer – 70 of them will be presented on the first day, and the remaining half on the second day of the event. The vast majority of these craft beer types are not sold in Lithuania. Therefore, those who want to experience the full variety of flavors are encouraged by the organizers to visit the exhibition on both days.

This year, the theme of the event “Forbidden Fruit” will welcome the participants and guests of “Putoja”. According to the exhibition organizer Linas Zakarevičius, this is intended to draw attention to the difficult daily life of the creators of these drinks.

“Due to various advertising bans in force around the world, craft beer breweries constantly have to speak in euphemisms and ‘between the lines’ about their products,” he said. “Sometimes we feel like we are producing some kind of ‘forbidden fruit,’ so we decided to present it that way.”

In fact, this theme will also be reflected directly at the exhibition – the breweries attending were selected based on the fruit-containing drinks they produce. In addition, those wishing to discover unusual flavors in Lithuania will have another unique opportunity – to taste various very rare delicacies.

“We asked brewers to bring delicacies from their countries that are hard to find in Lithuania. For example, a brewery from the Faroe Islands will bring whale ham. Guests from Peru, Japan, New Zealand, China, and Latvia will also arrive with gourmet souvenirs,” said L. Zakarevičius.

On Friday, exhibition participants will be able to take part in a tasting of delicacies from three countries, and on Saturday, they will be offered to taste the goods of three other countries. In addition to free-format beer and snack tastings, discussions about drinks and their production by brewery brewers will take place during the event.

The organizers of “Putoja,” which will take place at the “Smoke Factory” located in Naujoji Vilnia, invite visitors to use public transport – the 6G express bus or train – to get to the event.

It will also be convenient to return to the city center by train after the event – on both days, special late “Putoja” trains will run from Naujoji Vilnia railway station to the central Vilnius railway station, which event visitors can use free of charge.
